2010 Annual Air Quality Progress Report

Houston, TX is currently the fourth largest U.S. city in terms of population, with over 5.5 million people living within the Houston-Galveston-Brazoria region. Houston is home to the nation's second largest port, and almost 40 percent of the nation's petrochemical industry. Drivers in this region were estimated to be driving almost 139 million miles per day, last year. The region faces constant challenges in creating ways to reduce pollution while improving the quality of life for Houstonians.

This Annual Report contains extensive, up-to-date information on:

  • Houston's problematic pollutants
  • Current pollution (such as Ozone and Nitrous Oxide) standards
  • Programs that have been implemented to help achieve future reduction goals

and more...
