Help us continue to clean Houston's Air by Declaring
Your Action for Clean Air!

Ozone season (March 1 – Nov. 30) has arrived in Houston:
the time when hot temperatures contribute to increased levels of ozone. During this time, the high level of impurities in our air contributes to health issues such as heart disease, asthma and lung cancer.

Let's combat this clean air issue together by showing our
commitment to clean air in the
Houston-Galveston-Brazoria Region!

All you have to do is fill out this quick survey and let us know how you're contributing to clean air; whether it be taking your lunch to work or buying a cleaner vehicle -- every bit helps!

Local Initiative Projects (LIP) - Counties that participate in vehicle emissions inspection and maintenance programs are eligible for LIP funds.

The LIP program is administered through the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ).  H-GAC works to broker multi-sponsor projects that will be LIP eligible.  This practice helps the Counties by reducing matching funds, and helps TCEQ by increasing the number of projects.

The Air Quality division of H-GAC hosted a Local Initiative Projects (LIP) Workshop on March 22, 2010

Commuters can use NuRide to find rideshare partners in their area, plan trips online, and earn points for each shared ride that may be redeemed for sponsor rewards. Currently, H-GAC’s NuRide program is one of the largest and most successful virtual rideshare programs in the nation.
